Born in the streets of the Bronx, hip-hop has evolved from a cultural movement into a global phenomenon, influencing music, fashion, language, and activism. As one of the most innovative and dynamic genres, hip-hop continues to shape—and be shaped by—the communities that drive it.

What is its place in our Euro Region? Do hip-hop networks exist here? Who should you reach out to when developing a hip-hop project?

This roundtable will explore the many dimensions of hip-hop as a genre—its origins, its evolution over the decades, and its role in driving cultural and social change.

CUR - Eli Finberg (FR)

Eli Finberg, alias Mr. E is an author, MC, perfoming artist, hip-hop activist and educator.
Originally from New York, he settled in Strasbourg in 2005 and joined his first band in 2006.

Céline Kayogera (BEL)

CLNK ASBL

Nurtured by a deep love of Hip Hop culture, Céline KAYOGERA's professional career took a decisive turn in 2016. After several years working in the non-profit sector, she felt the need to explore new perspectives.

Driven by the desire to combine her professional communications experience with her personality and keen interest in French rap, in 2017, Céline reenchanted her career by founding CLNK. She launches herself as a communications consultant for a Brussels-based Hip Hop festival, over several editions.

By 2020, Céline was propelling CLNK towards new horizons. She orchestrated a multitude of projects in the podcast field (Réelle Vie, Pull Up - Une histoire du rap belge, Richesses Générationnels), events (RAP [BOOK] CLUB) and above all training (URBAN360), more specifically in the professionalization of jobs in the “urban” music sector.

Céline has also created video content around music and literature for JAM RTBF.

The embodiment of a creative and entrepreneurial force, Céline KAYOGERA has a degree in communications (ISFSC) and is trained in music production and artist management (Institut des Arts de Diffusion).

Suzanna Metzger (GER)

Suza (Susanna Metzger) has been rapping since 1989, with a preference for classic Boombap beats, and regularly participates in freestyle battles. Since 2007, she has been hosting workshops in the field of text/rap/singing, aiming to playfully familiarize participants with the connection between meter, rhetoric, flow, and sense of rhythm.

Europop is an independent project co-financed by the European Union. Its objective is to showcase the artistic potential of the border triangle through an online platform and, ultimately, to bring together all existing resources. Here, everyone has the opportunity to introduce themselves, interact with others, and actively participate in trinational cooperation. This platform will also be available to cultural actors and citizens as a tool for dialogue and information exchange.

The forum features artist profiles, information on cultural events, exchange platforms, and music and video streams to generate visibility and "borderless" exchanges.
