How are the various export offices coordinated? What cooperation programmes are possible in our Euro-region, and on what scale? Based on a range of testimonials and feedback, solutions will be put forward for a more cooperative future.
CUR - Corinne Sadki ( Fr)
With more than 25 years of experience in the music industry, Corinne Sadki started her career in labels, building a marketing expertise in music. In 2016, she joined Le Bureau Export, as Director of Studies, Communication and Digital Development and she is involved in European issues as President of EMEE in favour of the development of music at European level.
Within the Centre National de la Musique, she is an Advisor in charge of Europe and gender equality, supporting professionals on European issues and working towards equal access of women and men to the music business.
Giovanni Trono (Lux)
Head of Music - Kultur | lx - Arts Council Luxembourg
Giovanni Trono has been immersed in the world of music since a young stage. He was part of various bandss and collectives whose aim was to share alternative and underground music. After studying communication in Brussels and spending 10 years abroad, he decided to return to Luxembourg to share his experience with music:LX. Since the beginning of the export office in 2011, he supported musicians in their career development. Since January 2021, he is the head of the music department of Kultur | lx.
Kultur | lx – Arts Council Luxembourg was created in July 2020 as an initiative of the Luxembourg Ministry of Culture. The establishment of this new tool for the support, promotion and development of the Luxembourgish cultural scene is the result of a broad consultation with the creative sector.
The operations of Kultur | lx revolve around three core strategies: Stimulating the career development of Luxembourgish creatives Supporting and encouraging the dissemination of artistic creation Boosting the impact and promotion of artistic creations in and outside of Luxembourg
Neus Lopez
Catalan-born, Berlin-based Neus López (Barcelona, *1973) has over 20 years experience in the field of music export. Between 2002 and 2015, she was the Head of the Berlin office of Catalan!Arts, leading the export activities for the creative industries from Catalonia in Germany, Austria, Switzerland, as well as the Nordic countries and Eastern Europe. Neus joined Initiative Musik in 2018 as Head of Export.
In her current role, Neus has developed and implemented three funding programmes specific for export, as well as several export cooperations with main key events and showcase festivals, supporting German-based artists, music professionals and companies to expand their visibility abroad and create new opportunities for them in the international music market.
As a representative of Initiative Musik and Germany, Neus participates in european projects like ESNS Exchange. She is also involved in the network European Music Exporters Exchange (EMEE), where she is member of the board.
INITIATIVE MUSIK is the German federal government’s central funding institution for popular music and jazz. Artists and their music are at the core of their work in the cultural sector. Through targeted programmes and activities, they offer support for artistic development and economic growth.
They are committed to supporting a diverse musical landscape with sustainable economic structures and a clear commitment to ecological sustainability and social justice. Intiative Musik supports artists, the live music scene and music businesses throughout Germany in realising their projects and foster networks and infrastructures.
Albane Schlechten
Albane Schlechten is director of the FCMA.
She has also been coordinator for PETZI in French-speaking Switzerland, a permanent fixture at l'Usine and co-founder of the La Gravière concert hall in Geneva. She promotes equality in the nightlife world through her label We Can Dance It.
The FCMA (Fondation romande pour la Chanson et les Musiques Actuelles) was set up in 1997 out of a desire to provide support for artists in the broad and varied field of "contemporary music". The FCMA team is committed to helping artists develop their careers on a daily basis, through support programmes, advice, training and networking with music professionals in Switzerland and in key export markets. The Foundation is also delighted to be able to support the transformation currently taking place in this sector.
Julien Fournier
Julien Fournier graduated in journalism and communication at Université Libre de Bruxelles. His journey has led him since the early 2000s to work with Radio Campus Bruxelles, Radionomy, Les Siestes Electroniques, Vlek and a few other projects, always within the music, media and communication sector.
Hired at Wallonie-Bruxelles Musiques (a public agency specialized in supporting exports for the Wallonia-Brussels Federation’s music industry in Belgium) in 2012 as head of the current music sector, he took over the management of the agency 6 years later.
Today, he designs and implements, with his team, the policy of transversal support (all musical genres) for artists, bookers, labels and broadcasters residing in the French-speaking part of Belgium. He also recently joined the board of EMEE, (the association of European export agencies for the music industry) and is a founding member of SCIVIAS, a platform working towards a better gender balance in the local musical sector.
Wallonie-Bruxelles Musiques (WBM) is a public service agency specialising in export support for the music sector of the Wallonia-Brussels Federation (Belgium).
