Strasbourg Music Week World Beat in the Grand Est region: Overview and Collective Dynamics

What common ground do industry players share? How can we talk about World Music, showcase it, help people understand it, and make it heard within the music sector?

Whether scholarly or popular, sacred or secular, traditional or contemporary, World Music challenges our relationship with the world and our territories.

This musical aesthetic intertwines cultures, languages, and spaces, giving it a unique place in the industry. With its own creative and distribution logic, it raises questions about diversity and the expression of cultural rights without compromising artistic excellence.

Unfortunately, due to lack of awareness or preconceived notions, World Music is sometimes overlooked or marginalized. It is therefore essential to support World Music professionals across the region.
