His research focuses on historicism in pop music, electronic music, and more specifically the French Touch and Daft Punk. As head of the undergraduate program in pop music, he works to strengthen connections between the university and the local cultural environment (concert venues, labels, artists, etc.) through internships, artistic projects, meetings, and teaching collaborations with local music industry professionals.

Alongside his academic work, he is involved in various artistic activities: he was a keyboardist in the band So Called Wise, and is now a singer-songwriter under the name Deer Boy, as well as a composer for visual media.
