Les Femmes S'en Mêlent – FR

Stéphane Amiel is the founder and general manager of the festival Les Femmes s'en Mêlent, which was founded in Paris on March 8th, 1997. For 26 years, the event has been an alternative to the under-representation of women artists on most musical stages by offering an ambitious program and becoming one of the first international festivals defending women's musical creation.

With more than 500 female musicians and composers programmed since 1997, including the first stages of Christine & The Queens, Emilie Simon, Jeanne Added, Catpower, Feist, Soko, M.I.A, Yelle, Regina Spector, Nouvelle Vague, Daphné, La Grande Sophie, Corine, Austra, Courtney Barnett, Irène Drésel, and its national outreach, Les Femmes s'en Mêlent has become a reference both for its influence in the sphere of popular music as well as for its action in favor of gender equality.
A pioneer, in short.
