Knowledge of the neighbours’ markets : networks in the greater region, how does it work in your country ?
What networks are at play and how do they operate in each country?
CUR - Caroline Desgeorge
Caroline is an atypical profile if ever there was one: a lover of literature, it is after a training in international trade and communication. And an original - and also a little stammering - professional path that Caroline crosses the path of "booking" - or the opposite?
From the very beginning, she was involved in newcomers 'booking - which she still is - but the catalog she represents welcomes confirmed artists as well.
Several years of experience (too much to write!) and a few production companies later, it is now alongside MC*5 that she continues her professional adventure since 2019; while working on a few selected projects in parallel.
Created in 2006, the booking and events agency MC*5 produces, represents and advises National and International musical artists from all musical backgrounds.
MC*5 is the scouting of new artists, the development but also the production and promotion of confirmed artists in venues from 200 to 10000 people. 16 years later MC*5 has organized more than 2000 Concerts on the 5 continents.
In 2022 MC*5 organizes 25 dates for the tour L'amour de DISIZ (Gold Album and Platinum Single for Rencontre ft. Damso) and 35 dates for the Chicago Fanfare HYPNOTIC BRASS ENSEMBLE, and the exceptional and sold out tour of YASIIN BEY
MC*5, it's a lot of brilliant moves, such as the first French concerts of TRAVIS SCOTT, TORY LANEZ , LiL'WAYNE or of RICK ROSS, but also the return on stage of the very rare D'ANGELO, SHUGGIE OTIS or of CODY CHESNUTT. In 2014, MC*5 plays in PARIS the mythical black punk rock band made in Detroit: DEATH immortalized by the film A BAND CALLED DEATH.
MC*5 collaborates with "historic" U.S. rap artists such as DE LA SOUL, PUBLIC ENEMY, the WU TANG CLAN, ICE CUBE, BLACKSTAR, YASI.N BEY , DILATED PEOPLES, PHAROAHE MONCH , B-REAL (from Cypress Hill), XZIBIT, KRS ONE or TALIB KWELI.
Stan Bourguignon (Bel)
Stan Bourguignon is a musician since his childhood, and gradually became professional in different bands, then by practicing booking and management.
Since 2015, he multiplies collaborations and sharpens his understanding of the sector through various experiences: organization of an annual festival, setting up a micro-label, development of an agency, instrumental and live practice with various bands. Close to the alternative scene, he favors the human and artisanal approach of music as a tool for sharing and conviviality in front of the industry. He is interested in the political and institutional aspects of the sector by being actively involved in different federations, convinced by the strength and the necessity of a collective action for a better defense of the creative and cultural domains.
The FBMU, Federation of Bookers and Managers Uni-e-s, gathers booking and/or music management agencies based in the Walloon-Brussels Federation, in Belgium. The FBMU studies the problems linked to the professions it represents and to its sector. It brings a new expertise and new insights thanks to the shared experiences and solidarity of its members.
Jean-Noël Scherrer
Jean-Noël Scherrer, Last Train's singer and guitarist, is also the founder of Cold Fame.
This Lyon-based concert production and promotion agency develops tours for bands such as Bandit Bandit, Lysistrata, MNNQNS, Last Train, as well as artists like Hubert Lenoir, Paul Jacobs, Alias, and many others from around the world.
He is notably the initiator of the "Messes," monthly concerts in Lyon with a radically rock aesthetic, and the La Messe de Minuit festival.
For the past two years, he has also been the coordinator of Last Train Productions, the production entity for all of the band's activities, which is now entirely independent. Producer, tour manager, and artist, this young entrepreneur wears many hats, staying away from institutional rhetoric and driven by a passion for music as well as its means of dissemination.
Nadia Mitic (Swi)
After training as a teacher, followed by a Master's degree in literature, Nadia Mitic has been devoting herself to contemporary music since 2009. She is an artist agent and manager, co-founder and partner of the Swiss booking agency Glad We Met, as well as a press officer and programmer.
With over 10 years' experience in the field and a solid network in Switzerland's 3 linguistic regions and abroad, she regularly shares her professional knowledge through training courses, expert appraisals and jury work for the Swiss Music Prize, the FCMA, the HEMU, M4Music, Sonart and for the cities of Neuchâtel and Lausanne and the canton of Valais.
In 2022, Nadia Mitic created and coordinated a project to support emerging Swiss artists in their professional development.
